Overdose?
With an overdose, there may be nausea, vomiting, reddening of facial, dizziness and tiredness. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor immediately.

For acute treatment - one -time gift:

How does the ingredient of the medicine work?

The active ingredient comes into contact with special binding sites in the body, the so-called 5HT-1 receptors. The following reactions are triggered by this contact: The blood vessels, which are expanded for migraines, contract again and the release of certain messenger substances that trigger pain and inflammation is stopped.

Contradictions

What speaks against an application?

Always:
- Hypersensitivity to the ingredients
- Coronary heart disease (circulatory disorders of the heart muscle)
- Prince metal angina (special form of angina pectoris)
- Heart attack in the history
- Special forms of migraines (without headache), such as:
- Basilar migraine (severe dizziness, language and visual disorders)
- Family hemiplegical migraines (long aurapse, during which half -side paralysis can occur)
- Ophthalmological migraines (disturbance of the eye muscles)
- Circulatory disorders of the periphery (e.g. Arms legs)

Under certain circumstances - speak to your doctor or pharmacist:
- High blood pressure
- Circulatory disorders in the brain region, also in the history (transitory ischemic attack)
- Stroke in the history
- Epilepsy
- Limited kidney function
- Restricted liver function
- Possible risk of narrowing of vascular narrowing, as with:
- Smoking
- Nicotine replacement therapy
- Increased fat concentration in the blood (especially cholesterol) in women in menopause and men over 40 years
- Obesity in women in menopause and men over 40 years
- Diabetes mellitus (diabetes) in women in menopause and men over 40 years

Which age group must be observed?
- Children under the age of 10: The drug must not be used.
- Children and Young people under the age of 18: The drug should generally not be used in this age group.
- Older patients aged 65 and over: Even in this age group, the drug should generally not be used.

What about pregnancy and lactation?
- Pregnancy: Contact your doctor. Various considerations play a role in whether and how the medicine can be used during pregnancy.

If the medicine has been prescribed to you despite a counter -notification, speak to your doctor or pharmacist. The therapeutic benefit can be higher than the risk of using the application.

Side effects

What adverse effects may occur?

- Gastrointestinal complaints, such as:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Dizziness
- Fatigue
- Sleepiness
- General weakness
- Fleeting, spontaneously occurring reddening of the skin with a feeling of heat, especially on the face (flush)
- High blood pressure that is temporary
- Dismissons like:
- Tingling
- Severe, pressure and tightness
- Hot flashes
- Muscle aches

If you notice a disorder or change during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

What should you consider?

Field of use

  • The preparation contains sumatriptan, which belongs to the drug group of the so-called tripane (also known as 5-HT1receptor agonist).
  • It is taken to treat migraine headache.

Contradictions

  • The Arneometer must not be taken
    • if you are allergic to Sumatriptan or one of the other components of this medicine are,
    • if you have problems with your heart such as B. narrowing of the coronary arteries (ischemic heart disease) or chest pain (angina pectoris), or if they already had a heart attack,
    • if you have circulatory disorders in your legs that cause cramp -like pain when walking (peripheral vascular disease),

    • if you have high blood pressure. However, you can use the medicine with caution if your blood pressure is only slightly increased and well adjusted.
    • if you have a serious liver disease,
    • together with other migraine medication, including those that contain ergotamine, or comparable medication such as methysergide or another tripan/5-HT1receptor agonist (medication that are also used to treat migraines),
    • if you have certain antidepressants, so-called MAOI (monoaminoxidase inhibitors), or taken up until 2 weeks ago.
  • If one of these opposite ads applies to them:
    • Find out your doctor and do not take the medicine.

dosage

  • Always take this medicine exactly after consultation with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • Only take the medicine when the migraine headache has started.
  • Do not take the medicine to prevent a migraine attack.
  • The medicine is not recommended for taking children under the age of 18 and over 65 years in adults.

 

  • When should you take the medicine?

  • What amount should you take?
    • The recommended dose for adults between the ages of 18 and 65 is 1 film -coated tablet 50 mg.
    • Some patients can need 100 mg sumatriptan (corresponding to 2 film -coated tablets 50 mg).
    • Do not take more than 300 mg of Sumatriptan (corresponds to 6 film -coated tablets 50 mg) within 24 hours.

 

  • If the first film tablet has no effect
    • Do not apply a second film -coated tablet and no other dosage form of Sumatriptan for the same migraine attack.
    • If the medicine gives you no relief:
      • Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

 

  • When your symptoms return
    • If complaints have already occurred, you can take a second dose, provided that at least 2 hours have passed since the first dose was taken. However, you may not take more than 300 mg of sumatriptan (corresponds to 6 film -coated tablets 50 mg) within a period of 24 hours.

 

  • If you have taken a larger amount than you should
    • Taking too much sumatriptan can make you sick. If you have taken more than 6 film -coated tablets 50 mg within 24 hours: ask your doctor for advice.

  • Warnings and Precautions
    • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine:
      • if you have certain risk factors:

  • Wateriness and ability to operate machines

Pregnancy

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
  • Pregnancy
